During my summer vacation to my Grandmother Gizella's home in Hungary, I spent many weeks experiencing Hungarian culture and cuisine. One of the memorable times was when I watched my grandmother preparing her recipes in her small kitchen. Many of her recipes were created by her and some were passed down to her from her mother. I would sit with my grandmother in her living room during the evenings writing down her recipes. I am glad I took the opportunity to do this as I have enjoyed cooking and baking thes dishes for myself, family and friends. Her dishes reflect the times that she grew up in; two world wars. Her recipes are economical, simple, time saving and quick and easy to put together. I promised her that I would someday publish her recipes so that they could be shared with the world. Her memory lives on in her recipes. I hope that you enjoy her recipes as much as I do.
